ViewSonic intros 24-inch V3D245 3D monitor

ViewSonic has announced that it will ship its new 24-inch V3D245 3D monitor this August for $500. The LED backlit monitor supports 1080p playback and includes an NVIDIA 3D Vision wireless emitter and matching 3D Vision glasses. It is designed to display 3D images on connected systems powered by NVIDIA GeForce-equipped PCs.

The V3D245 delivers images at a crisp 120Hz frame refresh rate with a fast 2ms video response time, making it well suited to playing fast paced 3D action games. As expected, it includes an HDMI 1.4 input and features a super high contrast ration of 20,000,000:1 and 300 nits of brightness, which should help to ensure that detailed textures in 3D games are faithfully rendered.

Users can play from a selection of over 550 games that have been 3D optimized as well as access 3D content through 3DVisionLive.com, which hosts 3D videos and photos. In addition, YouTube also supports 3D Vision with numerous videos available for viewing in stereoscopic 3D.

The ViewSonic 24-inch V3D245 3D monitor will be in stores starting mid-August for an estimated sale price of $500.
