GamesCom won't see the release of a WP7 phone
The August 17 event Microsoft and Nokia are inviting press to won't see the release of a new Windows Phone handset as originally expected, according to slips. A trusted but unnamed source revealed to This is my next that the two companies are instead planning to make new connections and strengthen existing ones with local developers before the release of Windows Phone 7's Mango update. The Sea Ray handset may also be shown off at the event again, however.
Instead, it's believed the two companies will reveal new hardware at an event later in the year, either at the CTIA's enterprise-focused event in October or the more likely Nokia World that same month.
The Sea Ray could be very closely related to the N9, with new physical navigation buttons. A second-generation Snapdragon CPU and an eight-megapixel camera should also make their appearance.
