Google Chrome 13 stable now ready to go

Google on Tuesday posted the finished, stable version of Chrome 13. The new version formally adopts Instant Pages and potentially speeds up search. By aggressively pre-caching likely search hits on Google, such as the top result, it can cut the load time to little or nothing.

The new version gives print previewing to regular users as well. Both Linux and Windows users can now see what the image should look like formatted without having to commit to the paper. Mac users will get the feature as well but have to "hold tight," Google software engineer Timo Burkard said.

Chrome's all-encompassing address and search bar rounds out the core additions and should be much more precise for searching the browser history.

All supported three OS platforms can get Chrome 13 immediately. Google is still on its fast-track development schedule and should have a beta of Chrome 14 in as little as a couple of weeks with a finished version around six weeks.
