Karotz to set to launch in North America
The Nabaztag sequel, the Karotz, has made an appearance at the FCC. The device, marketed as the “the first intelligent house robot,” has been stripped of its dignity by the FCC boffins in order to test its Wi-Fi and other radio compliance. A photo of the device getting stripped is embedded below, as is a video of the device in action.
As the video demonstrates, the Karotz is capable of a range of functions. Among them, is the ability of the device to take snapshots of a room and send them to the owner remotely. When equipped with speakers, users can use it to stream music from their smartphone or tablet. It can also notify a parent via an alert when their child gets home from school, among other uses.
Its appearance at the FCC suggests a North American launch within the next two months with an expected retail price of $200. [via Engadget]
