Nook back-to-school promotion offers $100 in free books

Barnes & Noble has announced a back-to-school promotion that enables students to access $100 in free books and study tools with the purchase of any new Nook reader. The educational content package includes a collection with 12 of the company's Classics books and 12 SparkNotes study guides, along with the free Nook Study guides and four Nook apps.

The Classics package includes titles such as A Tale of Two Cities, Beowulf, Ivanhoe, Crime and Punishment, and The Portrait of the Artist as a Young Woman, among others. Spark Notes guides also cover popular required reading, such as To Kill a Mockingbird, The Great Gatsby and The Catcher in the Rye.

The back-to-school promotion is set to run through September 11, however buyers must register their devices before October 31.
