New Sony PSP bundle due at end of August for $160

Sony just revealed it will release a new PSP bundle on August 30 that includes the portable games console and EA's Madden NFL 12 and Need for Speed Shift. Also included is a 2GB Memory Stick Pro Duo. The bundle will cost $160 when it launches in the US.

Madden NFL12 lets players pick from 32 teams and stadiums and their favorite players. It invovles Superstar and Franchise modes as well as the ability to come up with unique plays. Need for Speed Shift continues EA's supercar racing tradition.

PSP bundles aren't uncommon at Sony, but the new deal is relatively large and is likely meant to help keep PSP sales going until the PlayStation Vita arrives early next year. Sales have always trailed well behind that of the Nintendo DS, but many may now be holding off for the much faster, more advanced system even if they remain loyal.
