Service now available for Chromebook owners

Netflix has tweeted that its @Netflix app is now available for Chromebook owners. The app is available from the Chrome Web Store. Netflix is a offering a one month's free trial to new customers.

Netflix's service is already available to systems running Mac OS X or Windows. Until now, Chrome OS users could not run it directly because the app for PCs required Microsoft's Silverlight plugin, which Google does not support. Linux users are still without the app.

Netflix's move follows its providing support for several more Android devices late last month.
