Sony's Alpha A77 already in line for an award
Sony’s forthcoming Alpha A77 has already been nominated for an award ahead of its launch. A nomination page from this month’s Good Design Expo (since pulled) has shown the A77 in the running to win an award for its innovative technologies. The camera incorporates a magnesium allow body, a 24 megapixel EXMOR CMOS sensor and a translucent mirror for quicker autofocus.
Its new BIONZ engine enables the A77 to have what is claimed to be the “world’s fastest” burst rate of 12 frames per second. It is also capable of 60p and 24p video recording modes. It also incorporates another “world’s first” XGA OLED viewfinder.
The Sony Alpha A77 is expected to retail for $1000 for the body only when its ships within the next few weeks. [via Engadget]
