Sources: Apple event on anything but September 7

Informants debunk September 7 Apple media event

Historically accurate sources stated Friday that rumors of a September 7 Apple event were wrong. While not claiming to know the exact alternate date, The Loop stressed that neither a gathering or an iPhone release was due that day. The date appeared more to have been picked by its logical timeframe than any concrete knowledge.

The tips didn't indicate whether or not the iPhone would arrive at the same event as iPods. Some rumors have put a new iPhone in September and would give Apple little reason to split the iPhone out into a separate event.

Apple has had special events in September on a consistent basis since 2008 and may do the same this year. It hasn't always gone the same route, though, and has waited until October in a few cases. With both a new iPhone and new iPods due to appear soon, Apple may be more inclined to shift the date to coordinate a release.

While unconfirmed, the rumor comes from Jim Dalrymple, a long-time Apple-focused journalist with a solid track record for past rumors.

    According to my sources

The real scoop is that there won't be an event at all. they are just going to update the sight with all the deets and some of those cool videos with Jony boy and that's it. No Moscone, no Yerba, no Campus town hall.
