YouTube ad arrives ahead of offical unveiling
Sony's upcoming A77 DSLR has surfaced in a commercial posted on YouTube. It is unclear if the segment fabricated, a genuine leak, or an official teaser released ahead of the camera's formal unveiling. The short video shows the A77 half buried in sand on a beach. The operator then picks up the magnesium-body camera, brushes off sand and takes a snapshot of the water.
Although Sony has yet to officially introduce the A77, the camera has been the subject of numerous leaks and a nomination for the innovative technologies award at the Good Design Expo.
Rumors suggest the camera will integrate a 24-megapixel EXMOR CMOS sensor, which is paired with a translucent mirror that is said to promise quicker autofocus. Users can reportedly expect 12-frames-per-second burst shooting, along with 60p and 24p video recording.
The A77 body is expected to retail for $1000 when it arrives on the market. An official introduction is anticipated in the next two weeks. [via SonyAlphaRumors]
