TabCo slips, confirms working on Grid 10 as reborn JooJoo

TabCo spoils Grid 10 launch early

Mystery 'startup' TabCo in a tweet (since deleted) spoiled its own launch by confirming that its first product is the Grid 10, better known as the JooJoo 2. The 10-inch, likely Android-based tablet is due to officially be announced at noon. Most details still aren't known, although the team will likely customize the interface.

The premature posting effectively confirms that TabCo, which has been teasing a new release for weeks, is a rebranding of Fusion Garage. The Grid 10 appeared at the FCC with Fusion Garage's labeling and will have to stay the same to go through.

Fusion Garage likely wanted to change its name after the history of the JooJoo. The company is best known for having turned on TechCrunch founder Michael Arrington's plans for the CrunchPad and deciding to finish and sell the tablet without the person who invented the concept. After attacking the iPad, the company had very few sales and dropped mainstream sales six months in.
