Verizon ready to release Android 2.3.4 this week

The HTC Droid Incredible from Verizon will indeed get the update to Android 2.3 soon, according to the carrier's support page. This also puts to rest an earlier claim that the provider will not be issuing such an upgrade at all. The update is ready to go and will probably be rolled out to handsets over the air throughout this week.

The OS will be upgraded to version 2.3.4, with changes expected to include the ability to connect to the Internet over Bluetooth, VZ Navigator now working when connected to a Wi-Fi network, MMS messages that send correctly and Vcard that can be sent through an SMS message. Other MMS improvements are also on the cards along with proper camera functionality without the need for an SD card to be inserted and the ability to change songs in the Music widget by pressing the forward button.
