BlackBerry Curve 9360 ships to North America soon
The base level of RIM's new BlackBerry 7 line, the Curve 9360, has had launch dates for North America leaked that show it arriving in the next few weeks. First up is expected to be Bell, which should bring the phone to Canada on August 29. Although not mentioned in MobileSyrup's tip, Rogers, Telus, and their related carriers are likely to get it at the same time.
Separately, a leak of Costco information has dated the US release. T-Mobile should have the 9360 on at least the big retailer's shelves by September 14. No Wi-Fi calling will ship out of the box, TmoNews discovered. Other US carriers are expected to follow.
The Curve 9360 could be the only BlackBerry shipping in the near future without a touchscreen but will still be a big leap over the BlackBerry Curve 3G with a sharper 480x360 screen, a much faster 800MHz processor, and a five-megapixel camera. Only GSM models have been pegged so far, but a CDMA version is probable. [bottom image via OneMobileRing]
