Motorola Droid HD pops up again

The Motorola has resurfaced ahead of its official launch. An Engadget tipster has leaked several photos of the device alongside the forthcoming Droid Bionic. The new pictures show a device that has marked differences in styling to the Bionic, with its tapered edges reminiscent of the Nokia X7. The device is shown to be capable of 1080p video recording, clearly visible in its labeling, suggesting that it shares the same TI OMAP chip likely to power the Droid Bionic.

Other details to emerge about the Droid HD from the photos suggests that it will center on a large 4.5-inch display, likely to be a qHD-type that Motorola has been favoring on its high-end handsets in recent times. Its 1080p-capable camera will be 8-megapixels, although the specification of its front-facing camera is unknown at this time.

It has a side-loading SIM and a microSD slot on the left side of the device, and a volume rocker and power button on the right side. Additional ports include a microUSB and HDMI. It has a large and user replaceable 3.8V battery, but retains a very thin side profile. It's OS appears to be an Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) variant.
