New Galaxy S II variant to be shown at next IFA

At the upcoming Unpacked event at IFA in Berlin, Samsung may reveal an updated version of its Galaxy S II smartphone, SlashGear learned from a teaser YouTube video that's been since made private. The so-called "light" teaser talks about "something big," which could indicate a larger screen size, perhaps up to 4.5 inches.

Also, there are some rumblings that the device could have a 4G radio onboard, though with the upcoming Hercules variant of the Galaxy S II getting HSPA+ network support, it may refer more to an overall speed upgrade rather than just any one network upgrade.

The Unpacked Episode II event is scheduled for September 1, at the start of IFA. Samsung is holding a US event for the Galaxy S II on August 29 and may give away some of its international plans ahead of time.
