Samsung Epic Touch 4G to arrive on Sprint Sept 9

The Samsung Epic Touch 4G will be seen on Sprint's network on Friday September 9 according to a new rumor. The device is a one of several upcoming variants of the Samsung Galaxy S II with just about each of the major networks picking up their own version of device. The timing of the rumored Sprint launch gels with an official invitation sent to Electronista and other publications for a special August 29 launch event.

The Friday launch date for the Epic Touch 4G that fell into the hands of the team at Sprint Feed differs from the typical Sunday launches of Sprint devices. However, it is thought that the 10th Anniversary of 9/11 atrocity is thought to have influenced the decision to move the launch forward to the Friday on this occasion.

When it arrives, the Epic 4G will be one of the most powerful handsets on the market with a dual-core 1.2GHz Exynos chip, an 8-megapixel camera and 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus display.

The device has already shipped well in excess of 10 million units worldwide, making it one of the largest selling handset models behind only the iPhone 4.
