Windows Phone Mango may come in August with IS12T

The first Windows Phone 7 Mango device, Toshiba-Fujitsu's IS12T, may arrive earlier even than what Microsoft has suggested. Both a KDDI Au listing and retail shop sightings (pictured) have the IS12T being ready on August 25, as much as a month ahead of schedule. In addition to spotting the phone's details, Nanapho in a follow-up has also shown that it might cost a steep 73,500 yen ($960) off-contract after tax, although it may dip down to $253 on regular terms.

The phone is an adaptation of Toshiba's Regza phone and centers on its camera, which at 13.2 megapixels is one of the highest-resolution in the world. Many of the internals haven't changed but have been tailored to the Mango hardware specs. A 3.7-inch, 480x800 display is joined by a 1GHz, second-generation Snapdragon as well as 32GB of storage.

The main selling point is expected to be the water-resistant shell as well as a uniquely wide range of colors.

Publicly, Microsoft has tried to insist that talk of a September 1 official date is just a rumor, but it didn't preclude the possibility that the first phones would arrive early. A September 1 date could be inaccurate but could also just be the second, Europe-focused wave of the release. [via WMPowerUser]
