Nook Color gets optimized magazines in 1.3 update

Nook Color 1.3 OTA update due this week
Barnes & Noble outlined a forthcoming Nook Color update, version 1.3, on Tuesday. It brings with it enhanced Nook Newsstand content, allowing users to view special edition versions of People, Fortune, Sports Illustrated, Time, Parents, and Fitness. At the same time, new parental controls that allow disabling the web browser are included in the update as well.
With the addition of the new magazines, the Nook Newsstand now offers more than 200 periodicals. Those with print subscriptions to Fortune, People, Sports Illustrated and Time can view Nook Color versions as part of the all-in-one price option.
Users can manually download the update now or wait for the over-the-air automatic update using Wi-Fi scheduled for later this week.
