Latest leak contradicts early rumors

Samsung's rumored i9220 handset may integrate a 5.29-inch Super AMOLED Plus display with 1280x720 resolution. Early reports suggested the device would offer a smaller 4.5-inch panel with the same 720p resolution, however unnamed sources have told the Italian site Androidup that the company is actually using the larger spread.

The initial rumors, based on a leaked roadmap, also suggested a separate device, the i9210, would represent the same hardware but for different markets or carriers. It remains unclear if the i9210 is a regional variant or based on different hardware based on the smaller 4.5-inch display.

Both devices are expected to bring dual-core 1.5GHz processors manufactured by Qualcomm, along with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of integrated storage. The Android 2.3.4 handsets are also said to offer an eight-megapixel primary camera and two-megapixel front-facing sensor.

Samsung has yet to officially confirm any details surrounding the i9220 or i9210.
