Vizio 8-inch Tablet gets official Hulu Plus suppor

Vizio on Wednesday had the rare distinction of becoming the first Android tablet maker to get official Hulu Plus support. The 8-inch Tablet's use of the older Android 2.3 has let Hulu adapt the streaming TV service to the slate. Access lets owners reach the full Hulu catalog online at the same $8 per month as elsewhere.

Hulu hasn't said when Android 3 tablets will get a truly native app. Google's OS now has modular copy protection to make multi-device support simpler but still has limited support for streaming services. Google itself and Netflix are primarily responsible for most current Android tablet video content.

Any Android tablet support comes over a year after iPad support launched side-by-side with Hulu Plus itself.
