ATT confirms LG Thrill 4G ship date

AT&T on Monday put to rest questions of when the LG Thrill 4G would ship. The carrier confirmed rumors and said that its take on the Optimus 3D will ship on September 4. It still wouldn't commit to a price, although the Thrill 4G is presumed to sit at $200 or less on a contract.

The version coming to AT&T mostly differs in content over the Optimus 3D already found on Rogers and elsewhere. Qik's video chat app will be followed by three 3D-aware Gameloft games and a store to shop for 3D-capable games from the same publisher. mSpot is providing 3D movie downloads, and owners will have the option of both uploading and viewing YouTube movies in the extra dimension.

Hardware stays the same inside other than the needed switch to supporting 14.4Mbps HSPA on AT&T's bands. The Thrill 4G is LG's fastest smartphone so far with a dual-core TI OMAP 4430 and dual-channel memory, but its centerpiece remains a 4.3-inch, glasses-free 3D screen and dual five-megapixel cameras to shoot 3D video.
