Angry Birds Rio HD, Quickoffice patch released

Hewlett-Packard told CNET that it plans to deliver an over-the-air update for its discontinued TouchPad tablet computer. A spokesman said the update would "add functionality" but did not elaborate on the exact nature of the enhancement. The spokesman also said the company is committed to supporting the platform and said the app catalog would continue to grow.

HP recently released a patch for Quickoffice Connect Mobile Suite to allow document creation and editing. The TouchPad shipped with a scaled-back version of QuickOffice that could view Word and Excel files, but not edit them. This week, HP released a new 6-pack of free apps, including Angry Birds Rio HD and FlightPredictor HD. [via CNET]
