Sonos announces 1 million sales milestone

Sonos, Inc on Wednesday announced it has now sold one million of its wireless music systems for homes around the world. The company began selling its wares, such as the wireless dock and Play:3, in 2005, and allows users to stream music from the Internet and their home PCs. The company reached the milestone in part thanks to its easy interface.

Sonos also pairs their hardware with free Android or iOS apps that act as Wi-Fi-enabled remote controls for the systems. Sonos systems stream Internet radio thanks to their Ethernet ports.

The company was founded in 2002 but took three years to ship its first product.
