Toshiba Excite already seen

Toshiba's much improved tablet, the Excite, has already been observed at the IFA show ahead of time. Although staff were closely watching it, the Android slate was in plain sight at the Toshiba booth before the expo opened. While only some info could be gleaned by Notebook Italia from appearances, it appears to use a mostly stock version of Android 3 and has the mini HDMI, microSD, and microUSB support leaked out earlier.

If other details are accurate, it will be one of the few Android 3 tablets outside of the HTC Jetstream to use something other than a Tegra 2 chip. Toshiba might use a dual-core, 1.5GHz TI OMAP4460 chip that could make it one of the fastest tablets in the field. Front and rear cameras are known, but support for 3G or 4G isn't.

The Excite promises to reverse an additional error Toshiba made with the Thrive and should ship much closer to its unveiling date, most likely within a few weeks.
