Upgraded Motorola Xooms with LTE upgrade appear
Some of the select Verizon government and business Motorola Xoom owners who were selected for the 4G LTE upgrade are now getting them back. One such user, who also happens to be an XDA forums member, said his Xoom arrived back after just five days with his root removed, the ability to connect to Verizon's 4G LTE network and, most interestingly, Android 3.2.2 preloaded. This is the first appearance of the new tablet OS revision anywhere.
The upgrade is free, though a technician needs to install an add-in card. The fact the forum user got his rooted Xoom returned with the upgrade in place puts to rest earlier fears and reports that a working unit isn't guaranteed if the firmware was modified.
It's expected that the upgrade will begin to be offered to the remainder of Verizon Xoom owners relatively soon. [via Droid-Life]
