Apple store workers get early iOS 5 training

Apple is already training staff for iOS 5 and iCloud based on shots of the most recent issue of the company's internal retail iPad news app, the Daily Download. The company has started up a series of instructional guides that will roll out over "coming weeks" to get store workers ready by the time the two are active. The 9to5 tip omits a hard release date.

Education at this stage on iOS 5 and iCloud, both of which are expected to be cornerstones of new iOS hardware, supports notions that the next iPhone will be in stores by October. How far into the month isn't apparent, although staff are only likely to need a few weeks' lead time.

Apple is known to be getting close. iOS 5 beta 7 is focused mostly on fixing a shrinking number of flaws. The firm has also been pushing out newer Mac OS X 10.7.2 and iCloud-specific betas in a similar pattern and is already charging for iTunes Match among early developers.
