PowerLite Pro Cinema 6010

Epson has introduced its first 3D home theater projectors: the PowerLite Pro Cinema 6010, Home Cinema 5010/5010e and 3010/3010e. All of the projectors feature 1080p resolution and active shutter 3D, driven at 480Hz. The 6010 and 5010/5010e models are claimed to offer 200,000:1 contrast ratios and up to 2,400 lumens of color or white light output.

The 5010/5010e projectors integrate a Fujinon OptiCinema lens with a 2.1 zoom ratio. The flagship Pro Cinema model also provides two anamorphic lens modes, two pairs of 3D glasses, ISF calibration, color isolation, a ceiling mount and an extra lamp. Models with the 'e' designation also enable users to wirelessly connect to source equipment via WirelessHD.

The entry-level 3010/3010e models are claimed to deliver up to 2,200 lumens of color or white light output, with contrast ratios of up to 40,000:1. The projectors also offer built-in 10W speakers and two pairs of 3D glasses.

The 6010 will be available for less than $4,000, while the 5010 and 5010e retail for less than $3,000 and $3,500, respectively. The 3010 and 3010e are expected to ship in October for $1,600 and $1,800, respectively.
