Samsung readying retro-styled R1 camera?

A no-longer existent blog entry has brought up the talk of Samsung working on a high-end mirrorless camera, the Retro R1. The information reportedly came from a private meeting and involves the size of a Canon G12 but resembles the also retro-styled Fujifilm X100. This means chrome and black for the body, which reportedly houses a 24-megapixel APS-C sensor.

Other mentioned specs included a max shutter speed of 1/8,000s and 10FPS shooting rate. Phase detection autofocus and a decidedly modern swiveling display round out what was leaked.

The R1 will reportedly list for £616 (about $987) when it arrives at an undisclosed date. [via Mirrorlessrumors]
