ASUS outs N5SF, N75SF media notebooks

ASUS promises multimedia notebooks due soon
ASUS has just put up two new multimedia notebooks with the 15.6-inch N55SF and 17.3-inch N75SF. The former can be had with a screen resolution of either 1600x900 or 1920x1080, and with either a 2.3GHz Core i5 or 2GHz Core i7. Either model gets a 2GB NVIDIA GeForce GT 555M graphics processor.
The base model has 4GB of RAM and a 500GB, 5,400RPM hard drive, while the higher-end notebook doubles RAM and gets a 750GB, 7,200RPM drive. There is a six-cell battery standard, and each gets a gigabit Ethernet port, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, two USB 3.0 ports, two USB 2.0 ports, an HDMI output, VGA output and an HD webcam.
The larger N75SF only comes in one version, with a 1080p screen and a 2GHz Core i7 and 8GB of RAM. It can be had with up to two 750GB hard drives and a 6X Blu-ray drive.
All three get Bang & Olufsen audio and include a corded external subwoofer. The N55SF ships in September with prices starting at the equivalent of $1,500, while the larger model ships early in October for a starting price of $1,800. [via NotebookCheck]
