Bluetooth audio device could be launched next week

Bose has submitted a new headset to the FCC for approval. As usual, the company has revealed little about it other than its BT2L name, Bluetooth support, earpiece is a plastic on-ear design. It's powered by a rechargeable, non-replaceable lithium-ion polymer battery.

It may not be coincidence that the maker of high-end audio equipment has scheduled a press event for next Thursday where phones and wireless are part of the invitation.

Bose currently has one Bluetooth offering in its portfolio. The Bose Bluetooth Headset is an in-ear design for a cell phone. The company began selling it in January. Bose recently dropped the price from $150 to $120, possibly in anticipation of the the new BT2L. [via Engadget]
