Wacom releases its biggest graphics tablet ever

Wacom has announced its largest ever graphics tablet, the Cintiq 24HD. It features a 24-inch H-IPS display with 89° viewing angle and 1920x1200 resolution. The Cintiq 24HD is capable of producing 92 percent of the Adobe RGB color space and can be calibrated for color-sensitive work. As shown in an earlier leak the Cintiq 24HD ships with a highly customizable stand that can extend past the edge of the desk to hover over the user's knees for a more natural drawing position.

Primary input is the passive stylus system that first appeared with the Wacom Cintiq 21UX and which responds to as little as one gram of force. It is sensitive to 2,048 levels of pressure and 40° of tilt to control line weight and opacity. The tablet also has two programmable scrolling buttons and ten programmable hotkeys on the frame.

The Cintiq 24HD accepts analog RGB, digital DVI and DisplayPort. A VGA-to-DVI adapter is included. The graphics tablet can send video by DVI-I and DisplayPort. It also has one USB port.

The Wacom Cintiq 24HD is compatible with Mac OX X 10.5+ and Windows XP or higher. Retail price $2,500.
