Mophie intros Juice Pack Plus Outdoor Edition with GPS app

Package aims to compete with standalone GPS units
Mophie has expanded its range of iPhone battery packs with the new Juice Pack Plus Outdoor Edition. The battery case offers the same features as Mophie's standard Juice Pack Plus for the iPhone 4, but with an orange and olive drab color scheme. The Outdoor Edition also differentiates itself by shipping with Mophie's Outdoor Navigation app.
The app offers a variety of GPS navigation features, including offline maps for the contiguous US. Users can download additional maps, view shaded topography, view points of interest, track trip statistics, and share information on the web.
The Juice Pack Plus Outdoor Edition is expected to launch in October, though pricing remains unclear. The app typically costs $30 plus $20/year for desktop access, however case buyers receive the first year for free. [via Engadget]
