Motorola Admiral set for Sprint Direct Connect
The Motorola Admiral has leaked ahead of its launch on the Sprint Direct Connect CDMA-based service. The device centers on what is a relatively large (for the category) 3.1-inch display and incorporates a full QWERTY keyboard. If the leak is accurate, it will come with Android 2.3 and will be powered by a 1.2GHz single-core Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8655 processor.
According to the Engadget source, the device will also pack a 5-megapixel rear camera, capable of shooting video in 720p. While there is no front-facing camera, the device makes up for this with a high capacity 1860mAh battery and meets US military 810G specifications for ruggedness.
Unlike BlackBerry devices that it will be competing with directly (RIM does promise the capability in future updates for OS 7 devices only), it also includes the ability to be used as a Wi-Fi hotspot out of the box.
