Phone for young women may get HTC Sense 3.5

What appear to be official press photos of the HTC Bliss have leaked in advance of the smartphone's Sept. 20 launch. The Bliss, which may launch as the Rhyme, is said to be designed specifically to appeal to young women. The Rhyme will be the first to feature the latest version of HTC's Android UI, HTC Sense 3.5. Although the new name suggests that Beats Audio will be included, the specs that leaked earlier this week do not.

The Rhyme will be a midrange smartphone with Android 2.3.4, a Qualcomm single core 1GHz Snapdragon, 3.7-inch 480x800 LCD display, a rear-facing five-megapixel camera and a front-facing VGA camera. A small stand-alone charm will light up to indicate that the phone has messages or incoming calls.

Sources say the phone will be available in yellow and pink in addition to the silver and dark blue versions shown in the photos.

No official announcement has been made on timing or pricing. An earlier leak had put Verizon's price with a new two-year contract at $199. It is expected that the HTC Bliss/Rhyme will be officially unveiled next week. [via HTC Inside (German)]
