RadioShack tentatively dates HTC Vigor, Samsung Stratosphere

updated 06:45 pm EDT, Fri September 16, 2011

Phones to hit the Shack in October

Radio Shack will likely begin selling the Samsung Stratosphere on October 6 and the HTC Vigor on October 20. A photo of the Shack's "direct fill" schedule leaked by Droid-Life has both devices in the retailer's shops on or before the date. Both phones will be sold for the Verizon network, so pre-ordering could begin as early as the end of this month for the Stratosphere.

The HTC Vigor will be shipped with Android 2.3. It is expected to integrate a dual-core 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor, 1GB of RAM, an eight-megapixel primary sensor, a two-megapixel front-facing camera, and Beats by Dr. Dre sound processing with matching earbuds. There is conflicting information about the display. While it is most likely to sport a 1280x720 screen, some leaks have shown it with an 480x800 screen. There is also some uncertainty as to the name it will bear when it hits the market. Although originally named the Vigor, more recent speculation has it being rebranded as the Droid Incredible HD.

Little is known about the Samsung Stratosphere other than it is a slider and will sport a five-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera.
