Twitter Developer Teatime to focus on iOS 5
Twitter gave a partial clue as to when iOS 5 would reach end users' hands with details of its first two developer sessions beyond its headquarters. Developer Teatimes in London on October 10 and New York City on October 12 will both have a "heavy focus" on Twitter integration within Apple's new OS. Each will have a question and answer session with platform developers from Twitter.
It's doubtful anything new will appear at the events themselves, but they could come just a few days after the rumored October 4 iPhone introduction. Apple has historically released new iOS revisions just before new iPhones and could have both end users and developers presented with a finished version when the Teatime sessions begin.
Having worked directly with Apple, Twitter may have a better sense of when iOS 5 will be ready. Rumors persist that iOS 5 may be completed as of Friday and will just need final carrier sign-offs to release it to the public.
