Racing WEheel optimized fgor Forza 4

Gaming gear maker Fanatec has announced that its new CSR Elite driving wheel, for use with Turn 10 Studios' Forza Motorsport 4 driving game and other racers, is now available for pre-order. The racing wheel emulates the look and feel of being behind the wheel of a real race car. The CSR Elite is uncommon in being compatible with PCs as well as PS3s and Xbox 360 gaming consoles.

The wheel incorporates four motors in its design. Two motors handle force feedback effects. Two more generate vibrations in the rim of the wheel. The center of the wheel is a real-world carbon fiber material. The wheel also integrates two paddle shifters and adjustable tuning functions to customize the feel of the wheel. For the full driving effect, the CSR Elite needs to be paired with pedals, which are sold separately.

The Forza Motorsport CSR Elite Wheel isn’t available yet, and official pricing is not known. If Fanatec follows the pricing strategy it used with earlier driving sets, the wheel should cost around $250. If a conventional gear shift is preferable to the paddles, it is available for $60. The foot-pedals will run $150. [via SlashGear]
