Most Windows Phones getting Mango in less than 10 days

Windows Phone Mango hitting most phones very soon

Microsoft has updated its Where's my phone update page to reveal that most American Windows Phone devices are getting the 7.5, or Mango, update very soon. Along with AT&T's promises, every carrier-bound and unlocked phone outside of Sprint is "scheduling," or due to get the update in under 10 business days. Sprint is marked as "testing," although it's known to have already posted the HTC Arrive's update for manual upgrades.

Mango primarily adds multitasking, a much more contemporary IE9-based web browser, more advanced live tiles, conversation threads, voice commands, and tight integration with Live chat and Twitter.

The timing is significantly improved from that of the NoDo update, where AT&T was weeks late. Microsoft's aim with Windows Phone has been to create a common platform that can be quickly updated, and even with NoDo was able to get most phone owners on a new release in weeks where Windows Mobile updates often only happened within months, if at all.

The first phones to reach the US with Mango already preloaded, the Focus S, Focus Flash, and Titan, are informally expected to ship in October.
