HTC Thunderbolt gets long awaited update

Nine months since Google first posted the source code for Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), HTC Thunderbolt users are now beginning to enjoy a tailored version of the operating system upgrade for their handsets. The Android 2.3.4 update is now rolling out over Verizon’s network, bringing all the feature enhancements that come with it.

The new Android build is 2.11.605.3. Among the feature enhancements are a new download manager app, new app and power management details, new desktop UI, including widgets, icons and screens, and new customizable dock icons. [via Android Central]
