Nexus Prime code dump shows bloat-free Ice Cream Sandwich

Nexus Prime code shows pure Android, no extras

Some code from the upcoming Nexus Prime smartphone has been revealed by p3droid over on the MyDroidWorld forums. The Ice Cream Sandwich code, also known as Android 4.0, code doesn't reveal any bloatware, or added programs and apps that would slow performance. Such programs are often custom skins or other apps from carriers like Verizon or from handset makers themselves, such as HTC's Sense or Motorola's Blur interfaces.

Nexus-badged devices are supposed to be as pure in terms of their Android platform as possible, however, since they are Google's flagship devices.

To continue the tradition, the Nexus Prime is expected to become the first handset with Android 4.0 preloaded, and it should launch sometime this fall. It's believed to come to Verizon on November 3, though other carriers may get it in either October or November.
