Accenture outsourcing from Nokia now finalized

Nokia announced on Friday it had finished its transaction to outsource the development and support of its Symbian mobile operating system to Accenture. The deal dates back to the spring. Under the terms of the swap, 2,300 Nokia employees will be transferred to Accenture.

The deal was prompted after Nokia announced a partnership with Microsoft to load Windows Phone software onto its handsets. Accenture will become the top go-to outfit Nokia will reach out to when it needs smartphone and service development help.
