Rumor has three next-gen iPhone capacities; 64GB included?

Would mirror current iPad options

The next-generation iPhone -- model N94 -- will come in three different capacities, a report states. Although only two versions of the device were mentioned in a related claim, it's now thought that Apple may have 16, 32 and 64GB iPhones. The conjecture is based on word from manufacturing sources that Apple has at a minimum been prototyping 64GB hardware.

8GB is likely being reserved for a tweaked iPhone 4, identified as model N90A instead of the current N90. What the N94's final name will be is still in the air, since while some evidence has pointed to it being the iPhone 4S, it could also be iPhone 5, especially since supposed iPhone 5 cases have shown up in AT&T stores. Apple may even be planning to release a 4S and a 5 simultaneously, although recent reports have favored the existence of just one new iPhone design.

    about time... if true

16gb iPhone, barely enough to hold multiple apps plus a decent selection of music. I swore my next iPhone would be at least 32gb but a memory upgrade is certainly in order (from 8-16-32 to 16-32-64).

    I might be wrong, but...

They have been "prototyping" 64 GB hardware for a while now. Remember that iPhone 4 prototype they found last year? Wasn't that a 64 GB version also?

    hope it's true...

I sure hope this is true, as my 32GB iPhone4 is constantly too full to shoot the amount of photos/video I'd like when I travel..

    Before leaving ritual..

    1. remove any app not used for 14 days..
    2. remove all games except cut the rope
    3. decrease the number of podcasts synced from 3 newest unlisted to, to 1
    4. remove all movies and tv shows..
    5. remove any audiobook I've listened to recently (1 month)

Then, and only then, is there enough free space to be positive I'll have enough for the photos and video I want to capture (at the race track, at a museum, an air-show, etc)

I'll be the first in line for a 64GB iPhone 5..

    Memory usage may change

Remember that iOS 5 + iCloud means that your photos, etc, can be streamed off the phone and into the cloud (and any other devices/computers you have online). So memory restrictions may not be as tight if you have access to WiFi.

OTOH, more memory is *always* better. :-)

iCloud is fine... until you hit your monthly bandwidth cap. Until cellular bandwidth is as cheap and plentiful as water, there is still something to be said for having sufficient local storage. Especially if you travel a lot.
