Compatibility described as 'experimental'

Parallel has released a new version of Desktop 7 for Mac, v7.0.14924. The update's main addition is "experimental" support for the Windows 8 Developer Preview, giving people a chance to test the platform inside a virtual machine. Windows 8 is scheduled to ship sometime in 2012.

Other changes in v7.0.14924 include general performance improvements, such as more efficient CPU use when the software is idle. The software should also sport better compatibility with Quicken 2011 and Autodesk's 3DS Max 2012. Desktop 7 for Mac costs $80 new, or $50 as an upgrade. The latest patch is available through 7's "Check for Updates" menu option.
