Bookeen Cybook Odyssey gets high speed screen

French e-reader maker Bookeen has just outlined a return to form in e-readers, the Cybook Odyssey. The six-inch device gets a fast E Ink Pearl display likely overlaid with the Neonode zForce touch layer and an 800MHz Cortex A8 CPU. Also, Bookeen claims it's the first device of its kind to get a High Speed Ink System (HSIS) to boost he responsiveness above and beyond what Pearl can manage.

As a video from May (below) shows, the display is indeed fast, allowing users to drag the image around with waiting for it to be redrawn. The device otherwise gets a touchscreen, Wi-Fi, web browser and page turn buttons.

The Odyssey should launch in Europe in a few weeks, though its price hasn't yet been revealed.
