Lion and iTunes updates for iCloud may come Oct 11

A late rumor has Apple posting its iCloud-capable Mac OS X Lion and iTunes releases early. The "reliable" Macotakara contact has both Lion 10.7.2 and iTunes 10.5 arriving before the iOS 5 release on October 12. Apple rarely posts updates on weekends, making October 11 the most likely candidate if true.

The next week promises to be one of the most aggressive for software updates in Apple's history with Mac, iTunes, iOS, and iWork for iOS app updates all arriving at nearly the same time. Apple is also launching Cards, a dedicated app for creating real-world gift cards. iTunes Match should go live in the US roughly two weeks later.

While unconfirmed, the timing would help mitigate the load on Apple by getting the largest updates cleared first and many more of its users ready for the mobile updates. [via AppleInsider]

    still hoping Apple will consider

Please Apple, give me the option to disable auto-save system wide. It's been a train wreck with documents on our file servers.
Develop the feature if you must, but just let us choose not to use it. For a professional environment, where several epople work on files shared in a central location, the assumption that anytime a user opens any file, anything done to that file must be saved at all times is just fundamentally flawed.
