Vizio tablets to get native Netflix app in update

Vizio on Monday revealed its 8-inch tablets will get a firmware update that will bring with it a pre-loaded Netflix app. Netflix members can log into their accounts and watch streaming TV episodes and movies as quickly as a shortcut on the home screen. As an Android 2 device, it has had an easier time getting access than Android 3-native tablets.

The service as always requires an $8 per month fee and allows users to access it from up to six different devices linked to one account. Progress is saved so a user can continue watching from a tablet while starting a movie or program on their HDTV.

Vizio TVs and Blu-ray players with Internet Apps compatibility also allow Netflix TV watching.
