Blue 2012 Olympics Wii bundle for Europe revealed

To commemorate the hosting of the 2012 Olympics in London, Nintendo will release a special edition Wii gaming bundle. Paired with the Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games game, the blue Wii comes with a blue Wii Remote Plus, a blue Nunchuk, and a sticker sheet. The Wii is the lower-cost Family Edition and doesn't have Wi-Fi or Gamecube support, however.

This the first blue Wii to date, though a matching blue controller was introduced back in late 2009.

It's not known whether the bundle will be officially sold in markets other than Europe. It's due to be released there on November 18, though prices haven't yet been revealed. Nintendo has said it will reveal more bundles before year's end.

The bundle is symbolic as it sees Nintendo and its famous rival Sega on the same box. Sega backed out of producing its own consoles in 2001, two years after the Dreamcast first shipped. [
