Nokia 800 (Sea Ray) possibly spotted in ads

Nokia gives Sea Ray Nokia 800 branding

The Nokia 800 (Sea Ray) has apparently surface in promotional material ahead of its launch. The phone pictured in the latest leak closely resembles a previous leak of the Windows Phone 7 handset first seen at the end of September. It is also very similar in design to Nokia’s one-off MeeGo N9 handset.

While the leak appears to confirm that the phone, which previously codenamed the Sea Ray, will be marketed as the Nokia 800, it is also thought that it could be branded as the Nokia Lumia in certain markets.

In one of the two ads embedded below, the company appears to build on the social networking pitch that Microsoft has been using when promoting its OS. The ad emphasises the ease of taking snapshots and sharing them with friends as well as the ability to sort the photos into albums in seconds.

This has been the main differentiator for Microsoft as it battles to make ground against Apple’s iOS and Google’s Android. Its marketing has focused its Live Tiles and Live Hubs where social networking is emphasized in lieu of apps. [via Pocket Now]
