Hulu still talking to Google on sale?
With yesterday's report that Hulu is no longer for sale, a new report from SAI sources suggests it's still considering a sale to Google. Google did make the largest bid for the streaming service, though it also wanted concessions that Hulu wasn't willing to make. Google's bid, at about $4 billion, was more than twice as big as Dish Network's $2 billion.
Hulu only offered its subscription service and the rights to exclusive content for at least two years, but Google purportedly wants more content and for a longer period of time, along with maybe some other concessions.
Sources close to the deal have supposedly said Hulu's parents are now planning on considering Google's full offer. Rumors have Larry Page personally flying down to Los Angeles to make Google's offer. Hulu will most likely at least figure out how to liquidate its assets, according to the wishes of the shareholders of the parent companies such as Disney, News Corp. and NBCUniversal.
