ASUS Eee Pad Transformer 2 shows MB Air clues

ASUS' Facebook page on Wednesday teased the upcoming Eee Pad Transformer 2. Although it would only call the Android tablet "the next transformation," the quick glimpse showed a much slimmer device than the original. The glossy black and brushed aluminum design appears more clearly patterned both after its own Zenbooks and, by extension, Apple's MacBook Air.

The company itself has been shy on most details, but inadvertent store posts have pointed to it using the 1.5GHz Tegra 3 and, by extension, being one of the first with a quad-core tablet. Its 10-inch design should have 32GB of built-in storage and Android 3.2. Its signature will remain the keyboard add-on, which should also bring a trackpad and a battery for extra life.

A launch could happen as soon as early November, although it might not necessarily reach the US before the end of the year. ASUS has gone on record as saying the future tablet would be more expensive than its ancestor at $499.
